Why did you start your business, or choose the position you are currently in?

I want to educate as many people (especially women) as possible about how money works. If you understand how the game is played, you can win.

You just won 10MM in the lottery. What would you do?

I would start (or continue) a non-profit to further the Kingdom of God. I have been involved in Forgiven Ministries, a prison ministry in Taylorsville, NC, and it has touched me so profoundly to see how God has moved in the lives of inmates and their children.

What’s your definition of success?

To be able to be who I am and not compromise my values.

Why is it important to you to be part of WOW?

I want to educate as many women as possible about how money works. If you understand how the game is played, you can win.

How would your best friend describe you?

Loyal, dependable, and smart.

Your Journey: How did you get to where you are?

I have over 30 years of financial services experience. I started out as a Savings & Loan Examiner in the 1980s, then became an auditor for a bank. When my son was born in 2001, I could not go back to a corporate job, so I became a Mortgage Loan Officer. It was truly the best of both worlds because I worked for myself, yet I was under the umbrella of a large company. When the financial crisis of 2008 hit, I found myself without a source of income and did a lot of “odd jobs.” After the market settled down, I worked as a Mortgage Loan Officer again. I had a lot of people coming back to me over and over again to refinance and take money out of their homes to put away for retirement or pay off debt. But the reality was this: without some accountability, they never actually did what they intended to do. So, in 2014 I got my insurance license and began this journey to educate and protect my clients. I absolutely love what I do.

What is the most interesting thing about you that we wouldn’t learn from your resume?

I have been participating in alternative medicine for over 23 years–long before it was “cool.” I even studied Homeopathy – but did not complete the training.

What inspires you?

What makes you laugh?

My husband and my kids make me laugh. I also love Time Hawkins.

If you were stranded on a desert island and could take three items, what would they be?

My bible, a lighter (so I could have a fire), filter for clean water.

What do you want your legacy to be?

Make a difference in someone’s life.

Anyone who wants to get a handle on their finances. I take a holistic approach to protection and retirement. I educate my clients on how to find money they are losing to someone else (usually the banks and the government) and put it back to use for them.
