Brenda Mash

Vice President, Business Center Manager
Why did you start your business, or choose the position you are currently in?

My career in banking started 32 years ago. I love working with and around people. I also enjoy change. Working for Peoples Bank and in a branch environment allows me to meet and help many people with their financial needs, whether it is to buy their first home, refinance to save money, help send a child to college, open their first account, or start a new business. Each day is never the same and that brings on an environment of change. I also enjoy training, coaching, and leading employees to achieve their career goals. As a manager, I get to work one-on-one with employees to help them grow and succeed. I also get to work one-on-one with customers to help them grow financially.

You just won 10MM in the lottery. What would you do?

Without a doubt, I would donate funds to Hearts and Hope, an organization that helps children and families in need. I would, of course, pay off any debt and save for our daughter’s future. I would also use it to travel near and far.

What is the most interesting thing about you that we wouldn’t learn from your resume?

I love to play volleyball and I love to dance, although I do not get to do either of these as often as I would like to. We are new to RV camping and are enjoying traveling to different destinations on vacation. Any favorite spots you have, please share!

Your Journey: How did you get to where you are?

I prayed hard! I am married to an amazing man and we have a beautiful, smart daughter. I have a good career and work for an amazing financial institution. Again, I prayed hard for all of these and worked hard. I am thankful for everyday. I realize any of these could be taken from me at any moment.

Anyone who is looking for a solid, hometown community bank to help them succeed with their financial goals, whether it is a new account to safe keep their funds, a loan to help them achieve a goal of homeownership, debt consolidation, college tuition, car, boat, or an account to help save for the future.

How would your best friend describe you?

Funny, loyal, imperfect.

What inspires you?

God, my faith, and my family.

What makes you laugh?

My silly husband and my silly daugther. Funny videos.

If you were stranded on a desert island and could take three items, what would they be?

Family/Friends. I would die of loneliness first! Water and sunscreen!

What’s your definition of success?

Working hard, both personally and professionally. Learning from my mistakes. Never giving up. Accepting change.

Why is it important to you to be part of WOW?

I love people. I am looking for friendships and a family of women to go through life with, learn from, and offer support and encouragement.

What do you want your legacy to be?

I hope people remember me as warm and friendly, with faith in God and belief in miracles, and that I was a good (not perfect) wife, mother, daughter, and friend. “Seize the Day” is my motto (make the most of the present moment).
