Why did you start your business, or choose the position you are currently in?

I started Holistic Body Therapies because there is a large need in the world for self-care, relaxation, pain reduction, and nutritional support.

You just won 10MM in the lottery. What would you do?

I have never really given much thought about a scenario like this, to be honest. If I came into a windfall of money like this, I would pay off all my debt first, help my kids out with their college loans, give a good amount to my church and to charities that are near and dear to my heart, and invest for my retirement as well.

What is the most interesting thing about you that we wouldn’t learn from your resume?

I’m ambidextrous. When I was a kid and had to do a lot of writing in school, if my left hand got tired, I would write with my right hand well enough to be legible. I have always considered myself left-hand dominant because I mainly eat and write with my left hand. Everything else I do with my right.

Something interesting that you wouldn’t find on my resume is that I homeschooled my two children for 7 years.

Your Journey: How did you get to where you are?

It’s been a long road here, but worth it. I started to learn about nutrition back in 2003 from a good friend. I was introduced to the Juice Plus company in 2004 and partnered with them. This business opportunity really set things in motion for me. The personal growth I experienced led me to have the courage to go back to school for a massage at age 37 and graduate at 39. I never thought I would go back to school again! I continued to learn new bodywork techniques with Bowen, and upon moving to NC, I wanted to start my own business helping individuals live healthier and more productive lives.

A good referral for me is an individual who is serious about taking their health to a new level. An individual who wants more energy, has a desire to feel better, and is done with constant aches and pain. They are ready for a change.

How would your best friend describe you?

Oh, this is hard. I am hoping I would be described as truthful, friendly, sincere, compassionate, empathetic, trusting, and genuine.

What inspires you?

People’s success stories inspire me. Hearing people share how they have triumphed through rough and difficult times helps me not want to give up. When I work on a client and see how their body responds to the work that has been done, that inspires me to want to help more people.

What makes you laugh?

So many things can make me laugh. A corny joke, a baby laughing, watching a funny movie, watching my dogs play, watching people do stupid things in videos, and more.

If you were stranded on a desert island and could take three items, what would they be?

My Bible, Drinking Water, Clothes

What’s your definition of success?

This is something I have struggled to define for myself for a while. I’m not even sure if I fully understand this for myself yet. However, as of right now, it would be helping someone achieve their goals, whatever they may be, health or income goals.

Why is it important to you to be part of WOW?

The ladies who are part of this WOW group are beautiful ladies. They want to give back to their community and help the other women be the best that they can be. I want to be part of a group of ladies who are looking to make a difference in their surrounding community.

What do you want your legacy to be?

Each one of us is created uniquely, and we each have a purpose in this world. I hope I will allow my purpose to shine brightly and not be hidden and that I will be able to help as many people as possible along the way to be the unique person they were created to be as well.
