Why did you start your business, or choose the position you are currently in?

Long story short, this is the 3rd business I have started and this time with my husband. Dave is a retired Army Colonel MI Aviator and after retiring a second time as a Defense Contractor, he came to me and said we should start a drone business. Aerial photography is being used in real estate, construction, inspections, agriculture, search and rescue, and many more areas. It is an exciting time but takes a lot of educating perspective clients. With a business and marketing background, I enjoy networking to build our business.

You just won 10MM in the lottery. What would you do?

-First? hire Jennifer Kauffman as my Financial Advisor ?
-Pay off our debt and secure our financial future
-Help our children with their debt and make sure they have a financial plan
-Secure money for our grandchildren for post high school education of their choice
-Help veterans… It is so sad how many veterans live day to day, and there are not enough programs and funds to help them. I would create a program and work with current ones that provide help that does not go through the long, never-ending paper process – believe me, we know!
-Contribute to local community needs
-Maybe buy a pair or two of shoes!

What is the most interesting thing about you that we wouldn’t learn from your resume?

From my first plane ride at 18 years old when I landed in Dothan, Alabama (I think it was a peanut field!), to see my now-husband get his ‘wings’, I knew I wanted to see more of the world. Fortunately, with our military assignments and private travel, I have been to over 14 countries and many of the US states.

How would your best friend describe you?

My best friend would probably say I have a generous heart. I know I often go overboard helping family and friends in sacrifice of some things for myself, but it is just who I am.

What makes you laugh?

Nothing is greater than a child’s funny antics and laughing! My little grands make me laugh all the time.

If you were stranded on a desert island and could take three items, what would they be?

A rowboat — so I can get off the dang island!
Sunscreen – I burn easily!
Water purifier bottle – I need water and hope I can spear some fish or eat fruit!

Whats your definition of success?

Success is waking up every morning and feeling good about myself and what I have done for others.

Why is it important to you to be part of WOW?

I love being with other women and supporting them in whatever phase they are in their lives. Watching Jennifer take her idea of a women’s group for the west side of the lake has been awesome. WOW has brought so many women together to build their businesses, make new friends, and have fun, too.  I am very proud of Jennifer taking WOW to the next step and want to be on this journey with her.

What do you want your legacy to be?

I would like my legacy to be this: I lived each day to be there for others, most especially, my children and grandchildren.
