Why did you start your business, or choose the position you are currently in?
I had a great career in sales and marketing. Then I lost my mother very suddenly. That devastating loss nearly took me out of life. I realized I needed to discover and live my purpose. I prayed and listened and went back to graduate school in my forties to earn my MA in Professional Counseling. I left an amazing career in sales to start my practice and have never looked back. I am living the dream!
You just won 10MM in the lottery. What would you do?
Tithe! Make sure everyone in my family had a home and a reliable car. Start a nonprofit to serve indigent people in need of mental health services to include a safe place for oppressed women. Take a BIG vacation with my husband…maybe around the world!
What is the most interesting thing about you that we wouldn’t learn from your resume?
I met a Denver, NC neighbor while vacationing 10,000 miles from home. Yep! We sat next to each other at the Sydney Zoo during the seal show.
Your Journey: How did you get to where you are?
As mentioned above, I experienced a loss and took that pain and created something new. It also took (and still takes) hours of hard work. Part of that work is finding time for self-care. We must take care of ourselves ladies!
How would your best friend describe you?
Busy! Kind, compassionate and passionate about my work.
WOW MEMBERS LOVE TO GIVE REFERRALS; WHO IS A GOOD REFERRAL FOR YOU?
I have a passion for helping anyone with mental health concerns to include anxiety, depression, stress management, overcoming trauma, grief/loss, career change, and marriage/couples counseling or other relationship issues.
What inspires you?
I am inspired by stories of overcoming impossible circumstances. Read “Educated” for a great dose of inspiration. It’s a true story of an amazing woman who refused to give up on herself no matter what.
What makes you laugh?
The Office, Frasier, The Klumps, my husband and my dogs.
If you were stranded on a desert island and could take three items, what would they be?
My husband (does he count as an “item” LOL), a cell phone with Bible app and lots of music, water purification tablets.
Whats your definition of success?
Living my purpose and encouraging others to find peace and promote kindness.
Why is it important to you to be part of WOW?
I want to connect with women on this side of the lake to develop friendships and help support them in their endeavors.
What do you want your legacy to be?
I want to have the honor of impacting lives and creating peace in a world that is not peaceful.
