Why did you start your business, or choose the position you are currently in?
I came to work for Stress Free Home Care in May 2013. I wanted to use my degree from Appalachian State University. I knew mostly nothing about aging seniors and the medical field. In all these years I have learned so much and grown as a person.
You just won 10MM in the lottery. What would you do?
I would pay off our house and make sure all three of my kids’ education would be paid for. I would invest money for my health care as I age. I would give some money to help people I have already helped over the years; I know they need it and would appreciate it. I would also travel to see the world more!
What is the most interesting thing about you that we wouldn’t learn from your resume?
My mom is from Germany and my dad is American. I was raised by one classy lady who can cook very well! My dad was the total opposite!!!! I guess opposites attract!
Your journey: How did you get to where you are?
A long, bumpy, curvy road filled with potholes!
How would your best friend describe you?
I talk a lot LOL! But I also listen a lot!!! Social Butterfly, friendly, outgoing, kind!
WOW members love to give referrals; who is a good referral for you?
A great referral for me is someone who is providing care for an aging family member, friend, or neighbor. Someone who needs help with Activities of Daily Living and wants to continue to live in their own home as independently as possible. So many people are so busy with their own lives and they need help caring for aging parents.
What inspires you?
My parents have inspired me my entire life. I’m blessed to have aging parents who take care of their health, financial portfolio, and so much more!
What makes you laugh?
I love to laugh! I love people with a sense of humor and quick wit. Most of all I laugh at myself!
If you were stranded on a desert island and could take three items, what would they be?
A hot guy, AKA my husband! A pillow, because I need my pillow for sleep! The 3rd item is a tough decision between kids and furry kids… I would need a pot for boiling water
What’s your definition of success?
Success is when you are completely happy with yourself, your life, and all you have accomplished in your career.
Why is it important to you to be part of WOW?
I want to get to know all the wonderful women of WOW and to be a resource for them for any situation that may occur in the future. I like learning all the options for products and services that are provided in the area where I live and work. I want to patronize people that I know, not random strangers. And I want to continue to build relationships for future friendships and possible business opportunities.
What do you want your legacy to be?
I want my children to be proud, successful adults. I want them to love what they do and do it because they love it!!! It’s not about the money; money can’t buy happiness!
